Gender Equality Explorer builds on the pre-eminent, award-winning online research tool Social Explorer, to provide user-friendly access to the latest US Census Bureau data collected through the American Community Survey. The easy-to-use web site lets users create maps and reports to better illustrate, analyze and understand the current status of women and girls across America and in their own neighborhood. Using this tool, community organizations, funders, government agencies, policymakers, researchers across sectors and just about anyone can: define and compare populations by demographic, geographic and economic measures; understand needs and inequities; and develop, implement and justify programs and policies.

Gender Equality Explorer was created by the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota and the University of Minnesota’s Center on Women and Public Policy, in partnership with Social Explorer, to expand the availability of data on women and girls and the capacity of individuals and organizations to use data to advance equity for women and girls.
